Capture seismic activity in all directions with our advanced triaxial seismograph for a complete view of Earth’s movements.
Overview:
The RS3D is a high-precision seismograph designed to capture ground motion velocity in three axes—vertical (up-down), north-south, and east-west. Offering a comprehensive, triaxial view of local and global seismic events, the RS3D provides researchers with a powerful tool for studying seismic waves in greater detail. Whether for personal research, educational purposes, or professional seismic monitoring, the RS3D delivers superior data accuracy.
Key Features:
- Three orthogonally positioned geophone velocity sensors (vertical, north-south, east-west)
- Millisecond accuracy for high-quality data
- 100 samples per second for reliable seismic readings
- Earthquake Early Warning System compatible
- Compact and portable, with an integrated design
Why Choose the RS3D?
The RS3D offers an unparalleled ability to capture S waves and other seismic movements across all three axes, providing a complete 3D view of ground motion. With its high-precision geophones and low noise floor, the RS3D ensures accurate measurements of local micro-seismic events and larger, distant earthquakes. The dynamic range and reduced potential for error make it a top choice for serious enthusiasts, seismologists, and professionals.
The RS3D’s configuration guarantees sensitivity to low frequencies and high dynamic range, ensuring that all seismic activities are captured precisely, regardless of the event’s magnitude. Its ease of integration into seismic networks, portability, and data quality make it an essential tool for monitoring all types of seismic activity.

All Raspberry Shake models are highly compatible, easily integrated into existing networks, and can be rapidly deployed.

It all started with a geophone from another manufacturer, which unfortunately can only be operated via a serial interface. Since I want to use all my instruments over the LAN, I started searching and found the Raspberry Shake. In combination with jAmaseis I got a very nice curve display which is easy to interpret even for laymen. Since I built or assembled many of my devices mostly by myself and could save money, I bought the components and equipped the device with its own waterproof case and Güralp compatible connectors. The price-performance ratio is good for me, the contact with Branden and later with the support was always very professional and fast. I can only recommend this device.

This is a very nice device. Cannot say anything wrong about it. If it were broadband, it would cost a lot more (and broadband instruments have much higher requirements on deployment).
